I get this question all the time... "How does this gorgeous thing go on?!?" and I think in this case a picture is worth a thousand words, so I've put a few below that show how a Lotus Clip goes on. You start "from the top" and slide it into place, Simple!

I built my first Dirt House

Experiment number one was a success! I set out to make myself a small model dirt house to learn something and see what the labor was like. I learned a bunch, I have so many more questions now, I was sore for two days, and severely sunburned... I can't wait to do it again!!!

I used fabric and sheets from the thrift store and unsifted fill dirt that cost $10 a yard. The dirt house is about 4 1/2 feet tall and it used about 3/4 yards of fill dirt.

A friend of mine had a baby shower and asked all attending to bring her a bead so she could have a little piece of everyone to take with while in labor. everyone brought beads... and she was left with beautiful beads of all colors shapes and sizes, with different sized holes which would make stringing them together impossible.... and she had no idea of what to do with them. i offered to come up with something and quickly tasted my foot. the beads didn't match each other and since there was such a massive assortment of bead hole sizes i had a dilemma.
i sat and stared at them for a few minutes, started sorting them for differnt qualities. at first it was size and color, then shape, then small hole vs. big hole... then i realized that the only way to make these beads go together was to separate them. i started sorted out beads that looked nice as a pile and wound up making her a 5 strand necklace that can be worn together or each strand individually. she really likes it!!

The Honey House is a 12-foot (interior) diameter corbelled earthbag dome built in 1996. The earthbag work was constructed in 19 days. The plastering was an ongoing summer project. Cost of all materials was about $1500 (US). Included in this price was professional backhoe service to dig the foundation, all reject soil delivered, bags, barbed wire, window and door forms, manufactured windows and custom-made door.
